RELIGION: The Only Country in the World With No Church

updated 30 Jul, 2023

Did you know that while there are Christians, it is the only country in the world where they are not allowed to worship in a church?

Have you ever imagined if there could be any country without a single church in it, considering the popularity of Christianity and mass number of its members? We have over 190 countries on earth. Could there be any country, without a single church in it? Yes there is! And the country is “Saudi Arabia”.

Saudi Arabia is considered the largest state in Western Asia and the second largest amongst all Arab countries after Algeria, with a geographical area covering approximately 2,150,000 km per square.

The country being an Islamic country, have their beliefs in Prophet Muhammad, as Christians have their beliefs in Jesus Chris Of Nazareth, they have mecca as their place of worship, and Muslims do go there from different countries to worship, once in a year during Hajj. The date of Hajj is determined by the Islamic calendar (known as Haji calendar or AH), which is based on the lunar year. Every year, the events of Hajj take place in a ten-day period, starting on 1 and ending on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth and last month of the Islamic calendar.

Mecca is the holiest of places in the country as it is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic faith itself.

For clarification purposes, It’s not that there are no Christians in the country, there are Christians in the country with over one million Roman Catholic members, which means that they don’t discriminate. This indicates that Christians are very welcome, but it must be on work purposes and not faith. This means Christians living in the country are only allowed to worship their God, at the comfort of their homes

When the British disapproved the Mega-Mosque in London, the British Muslim was pissed. The mega mosque is believed to be so huge that it will dwarf many of Britain’s Christian cathedrals.

Councilor Craig, who lives in a city with 300 mosques and 500 madrassahs, suggests that Britain not allow any more mosques until Muslims allow churches in Saudi Arabia. Craig said, “Why should the Saudis pay for a mosque in the UK when there is not one single church, temple, goodwara, synagogue in Saudi at all?”
