REBIRTH NATION INT'L: We are driving passion in children, women — Founder/CEO Iyoroebi Itima

In their numbers, female children that are between the ages of eight and 14 years met at the Rebirth Nation International Girl Child 2025 Spelling Bee Competition, an initiative powered by the non-governmental organisation to inspire the girl child and to boost her self-confidence towards her dream.
The fun thrilling contest which was part of the Rebirth Nation Int'l initiative to mark the United Nations' International Girl's Child Day on Saturday, October 11, ended with awards of trophies, medals, certificates, and gift packs to both winners and other participants.
Speaking to PENGlobal Community, Founder and Chief Executive of the NGO, Barr. Iyoroebi Vera Itima, revealed that the Spelling Bee Competition is the organisation's maiden project in line with its vision "To create a world where children and women are safe, valued, and equipped to fulfill their God-given potential" and by the organisation "becoming strong arrows of impact in families, communities, and nations."
Speaking further on its purpose she said, "Rebirth Nation International is an NGO that was created to empower the young child, both male and female, as well as women. In other words, we are for the empowerment of children and women such as widows, single mothers, among others.
"Overtime we discover that a lot of people are struggling when it comes to the financial aspect of life, especially when it comes to the women. As such we are into capacity building, teaching people that they can leverage on themselves as an individual rather than just waiting for others to come and help them. They can help themself even before any other person can come and help them," she explained.
Barr. Itima who gave credence to her father for his motivation on her, also reiterated the important role that the Rebirth Nation Int'l is set to play in reinvigorating the ambitions of the girl child to pursue and achieve her dreams irrespective of the stigma associated with being a female child.

"You know, there's a saying that when you build a girl child, that you build a nation. So I always see myself as one of those people because my father used to push me a lot. He would tell me that, as a woman, I have a lot to play, a lot of roles to play in society.
"Even when you are married, you have a lot to play when it comes to taking care of your husband, taking care of yourself, taking care of the kids. Like your duty does not end because you are a woman. So that was what I was trying to bring out.
"And also, when it comes to the educational aspect of it, most parents don't really look at the girl child. They just believe that after she goes to school, she will marry. That's the notion they give to them when they are growing up. That's why I came up with the spelling bee, to enable them to build that confidence so that they can have that bold sense.
"During the contest, a lot of them said they want to be a medical doctor. But after a period of time, you see that such dream will die away. So we're just here to give life to their dreams. Whatever they dream as a child, it will all become reality to them," she explained.
The chief executive of the organisation called for partnership from interested individuals and same vision-driven NGO, as well revealed plans for other upcoming initiative such as 'Her Voice, Her Vision'.
"I've been doing this on a low-key, but when I saw that my father always pushed me, I had to come out. When I joined the Alliance in Motion organisation, through the Diamond Project, I got to meet a lot of women. And I'm ready to work, not just sit down behind the table and wait for everybody to be doing it. There is this one plus one equals to two in every home. We need more partners because we have a lot of projects at hand, such as 'Her voice, Her vision.' We have already drew our calendar for it," she declared
