In the present Nigerian economy where the high cost of living has made life very difficult, especially for the less privilege in society, one foundation has taken the mantle upon itself, in its attempt to complement other humanitarian efforts, by rising up to the task of reviving the hope of many whose livewire is hinged on the spiritual exercise of prayer for a God-sent to bring respite their way in order to cushion the hyperinflation effects in the country.

Guided by the vision of humanitarianism, the Raphael Biu Foundation, in commemoration of the 40th birthday of its Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Engr. Dr. Raphael Biu, embarked on an inaugural medical outreach programme at the Central Hospital in the city of Warri, Delta State, a visit that culminated in the payment of medical bills for some indigent patients at the hospital on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Engr. Dr. Raphael Biu, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Raphael Biu Foundation, hails from Patani in Delta State, and is a passionate Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil and Gas Sector, registered with various professional organizations.

The team of officials from the Foundation, coordinated during the visit by the Central Hospital Warri's Public Relations Officer, Uche Nwaedozie; and the Administrator, Mrs.Omame Rose, attended to several cases of patients that couldn't afford their medical bills, ranging from those on life support with Oxygen, dialysis, cancer of the womb, RBG, pre-term babies, diabetes, among other health challenges.

The beneficiaries, Joy Obukowho, Ajire Emmanuel among others, whose bills were taken care of by the Foundation's interventions, while expressing their appreciations with many thanks, prayed the Almighty God to meet the needs of the sponsors of the outreach.

A Board of Trustee member at the Foundation, Mr. Gabriel Ukuli, on behalf of the Chairman, BoT of the Foundation, said that the medical outreach was the inaugural edition and that the Foundation intends to do more frequently, humanitarian services in its determination to assist the less privilege and senior citizens in the society.

He noted that the Foundation, which is birthed out of the love for humanity and geared towards impacting lives, revealed that it is also focusing on empowerment of youths and widows.

Dr. Biu further gave the assurance that the medical outreach will be carried out quarterly to render support to people around the world in order for them to have a meaningful life.

Whether the Raphael Biu Foundation, founded by Engr. Dr. Raphael Biu, MNSE, is one of the answers to such prayers of the less privilege in society will be revealed in the course of time. However, the Foundation's recent pioneer efforts to resuscitate the hope of the less privilege in the Nigerian society is surely an assurance that despite the economic hardship, there is hope on the horizon.
