The Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship (GICF), an umbrella body of Christians in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, convey its congratulations to a vibrant member and passionate women leader, HON. BEAUTY WAREJOUWEI, on her recent appointment as a member representing the Niger Delta region in the Governing Council of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYREP) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It is no longer news that the Niger Delta region is among the world's most polluted sites in the world. While Nigeria has earned massive revenues from crude oil production for more than 60 years, it is quite appalling that safety to the lives of the people have not been given the needed priority in terms of remediating the environment.

With the appointment of Hon. Warejouwei, we believe that as a God-fearing and well-respected women leader, we have our confidence that she will work in collaboration with other members of Council and the Board to make a difference in their tenure.

While we applaud President Tinubu for this landmark appointment and commend his zeal to transform the Niger Delta, we appeal that the purpose behind the establishment of HYPREP be accomplished by the Federal Government making adequate release of funds for its agency to swing into full action in cleaning up the region and bringing about new lease of life that will boost employment, investments and tourism.

We congratulate Hon. Warejouwei as well as all other appointed Governing Council members and BoT. We wish them all a productive and prosperous tenure in office, and pray for God's guidance.
