The Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship (GICF) in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has honoured the late Rev. Dr. Ikem Clever Tolar, who posthumously turns 80 on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, with a Posthumous Award of Excellence.

The posthumous award, presented by the GICF Chairman, Pastor Samuel Ukuli, was received by the son, Mr. Jude Tolar, at his office, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Other members of the GICF present during the presentation are Apst. (Dr.) Mathias Zion Amaye, Vice Chairman; Evang. (Dr.) Saint Abraham Tebiano, General Secretary; Pastor Friday Mala, Programme Coordinator; and Pastor Felix Famutua, Publicity Secretary.

The inscription on the posthumous award reads: "There are men assigned to a season in every generation. You created a niche for the next generation through divine wisdom and excellent spirit. You mentored many to show them the pathway of true leadership and transparency. Your type is rare. We honour you today for your exemplary lifestyle of leadership."

The GICF, during the presentation of the posthumous award, noted that the late Rev. Tolar was a mentor to the Christian body in Gbaramatu Kingdom, a personality who likes to bring together the Christian group to become one so that they can achieve a common goal and to win souls for Christ.

The Christian Forum also charged the son, Mr. Tolar, to emulate his late father inorder to continue to sustain the legacy that was left behind by the leader and mentor.

Mr. Tolar, in his response, thanked the Christian Forum for the honour given to his late father through the posthumous award which coincided with the posthumous birthday of the late Rev. Tolar, who turns 80 posthumously on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

He admitted that the shoe of his late father was quite a big one but that since he is stepping in it, he will give his best towards ensuring the sustenance of his father's legacy.

He urged the GICF to continue to propagate the Word of God to all nooks and cranny in the Kingdom and to ensure they continually win more souls for Christ as his late father would have desired.

It would be recalled that the late Rev. Dr. Tolar passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at the age of 75 years.
