The Tompolo One Million Youth Movement for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 has commended the Presidency, the National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) High Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro, for the expansion of the PAP scholarship to accommodate more students from the Niger Delta region.

The commendation was given over the weekend by the National Coordinator of the pressure group, Senior Comrade Saturday David, who noted that the development shows that the Tinubu government means well for the oil-rich region.

Recall that the PAP Office recently revealed that it had deployed 7700 students for its scholarship scheme within Nigerian universities in less than two years, and an additional 162 students from the region to universities in the United Kingdom for post-graduate programmes in targeted disciplines within the same period.

"We are delighted at the Presidential Amnesty statistics of scholarship students deployed within the space of two years of the Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro Ph.D led Amnesty Programme that accounts for 7700 beneficiaries across Nigerian universities and 162 beneficiaries for its foreign scholarships.

"This is a commendable feat worth celebrating because the Amnesty Programme has never had it so good since its inception. We therefore thank President Bola Tinubu and the NSA Nuhu Ribadu for their determination to ensure the PAP fulfils its core purpose of serving the Niger Delta people and is not derailed. More importantly for appointing Chief Otuaro at this crucial point in time to serve as its Administrator," he added.

The National Coordinator of the Movement, which has registered its presence in more than 30 states across the Nigerian federation, further called on all well-meaning stakeholders in the region to throw their weight behind Otuaro as well as support the Tinubu government.

"We call on all stakeholders in the Niger Delta to join hands together to give their support to the President Tinubu-led administration as he has demonstrated he desires the development of the Niger Delta.

"We also salute the PAP Boss for the courage to take the bull by the horn despite the blackmail and attempts by detractors to distract his mission to place the Amnesty Programme back on sound footing."
