PAP REFORMS: N'Delta owes Otuaro debt of gratitude — Ozobo
A prominent Niger Delta activist, rights advocate, and President of the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative (IPDI), Comrade Ozobo Austin, has asserted that the Niger Delta region owes the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), “a debt of gratitude for his tireless efforts to promote peace, stability, and development in the region.”
Ozobo, who had aspired for the House of Assembly in Burutu North constituency as well as expressed his interest in the Burutu Local Government Council chairmanship, said that Otuaro is among the series of Ijaw sons that have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the oil-rich region.
"The Ijaw nation has produced many notable sons and daughters who have made significant contributions to the development of Nigeria, and Dr. Dennis Brutus Otuaro is one such individual," Ozobo stated.
"As the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Otuaro brought much-needed stability and direction to the programme, steering it away from the brink of collapse.
"During his tenure, Dr. Otuaro implemented innovative strategies that revitalized the programme, providing hope and opportunities to countless Niger Delta youths who had been embroiled in militancy. His leadership and vision helped to restore peace and prosperity to the region, earning him the respect and admiration of the Ijaw nation and beyond," he added.
Ozobo, a native of Ayakoromo Community in the Burutu LGA, describes Otuaro as an experienced leader who injected fresh ideas to revitalise the PAP, to deepen the peace in the region and create opportunities for the youths.
"A seasoned administrator and development expert, Dr. Otuaro's appointment as PAP administrator was a masterstroke. He brought a fresh perspective to the programme, leveraging his vast experience to tackle the complex challenges facing the Niger Delta region.
"His commitment to providing foreign/ Home based scholarships for beneficiaries, embarking on leadership and vocational trainings, empowering local communities, promoting sustainable development, security and fostering regional cooperation has been unwavering."
The activist further noted that Otuaro's is a rare gift to the Niger Delta people as is leadership is inspiring and that his legacy will continue to motivate excellence in others who aspire to lead in public office.
"The people of the Niger Delta are indeed fortunate to have had a leader of Dr. Otuaro's caliber at the helm of the PAP. His dedication to the programme's success has inspired a new generation of leaders and has rekindled hope for a brighter future in the region.
"As a proud son of the Ijaw nation, Dr. Otuaro's achievements serve as a shining example of what can be accomplished through hard work, determination, and a commitment to public service.
