PANAFYL: Dekawei visits Uduaghan, Arimobi, seeks support for African women, girls

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand support for African women and girls in crucial areas such as education, health and leadership, the Director of Finance for the Pan African Female Youth Leaders, PANAFYL, Miss Vera Timi Dekawei, has led a delegation on an official visit to the Delta State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Girl Child Development, Hon. Orode Uduaghan, and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Female Youth Development, Hon. Miracle Arimobi.

The visit, which marks a significant step in building partnerships dedicated to uplifting the lives of women and girls throughout Africa, took place on in Asaba on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Other members of the PANAFYL delegation include Miss Awusa Edein-otukpo-emi Rina and Miss Gold Irawo

PANAFYL, which currently has membership in over 10 African countries, was founded in the year 2017 by Ekemini Inyang, a social activist, humanitarian and an advocate of gender equity from Akwa Ibom State.

On the outcome of the meeting, PANAFYL's Director of Finance hinted that the PANAFYL team were able to share with Hon. Uduaghan, their vision and mission for Africa with focus on initiatives that empower women and girls to achieve self-actualization and to play meaningful roles in society.

Hon. Uduaghan in her response expressed her support and recognized the critical importance of the collaborative efforts to add value to the lives of women and girls.

The PANAFYL delegation also met with Miss Arimobi, an interactive session that offered the S.A. to the Governor on Female Youth Development the opportunity to share valuable insights on how PANAFYL could further its impact, as she emphasized the power of collaboration in driving progress for the girl child across the continent.

Speaking to PENGlobal Community on the organisation's objectives, Dekawei said the International NGO is aimed at improving the lives of women, not only in Nigeria, but across the African continent hence its membership spread across countries in the continent.

"PANAFYL is all about women; to fight for the rights of women, protect women, gender-based violence. PANAFYL is all about encouraging women to be educated, to be in leadership, entrepreneurship and every spheres of life; giving women every support needed in all they do in our own little way.

"PANAFYL Africa is in over 10 African countries, aimed at improving the lives of women. We have our members spread across the country.
