In a bid to tackle the issue of substance abuse prevalent among youths, the Comrade Roland Dede-led Ogulagha Kingdom Youth Council (OKYC) in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, is set to hold its Anti-Drugs Campaign rally themed "Say No To Drugs" across the coastal kingdom from 10:00am on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

The campaign is part of the activities marking the OKYC forthcoming Conference that is scheduled to hold in Ogulagha Community Town Hall from Friday 23 to Saturday 24, January 2026.

The OKYC campaign which is in collaboration with the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TASNL), Julius Pondi Foundation, the Godfrey Pondi Foundation, Veekit Nigeria Limited, Soso Pondi Foundation among others, is aimed at sensitising Ogulagha youths on the dangers of the use of hard drugs and substance abuse.

Speaking on the rally, Comrade Dede said, "It is an anti-drug campaign across Ogulagha Kingdom communities. The intake of illegal substance is silently destroying the health of our youths.

"It is high time we begin to look at the broad picture in the future, and what we, the youths, want to do with our lives. And certainly, going the way of taking hard drugs or illegal substances is definitely not the way to go.

"As a youth body, the safety of our youths is one of our priorities and guiding them against drug abuse is building the youths for the future, preventing breakdown of law and order, savaging families from the after-effects of substance abuse, redirecting of the funds for medical attention to drug abuse victims to other important things, and most importantly preserving the mindset of our youths from degradation because anyone who is a drug addict cannot function in the society," he noted.

The OKYC President charged all stakeholders in the kingdom to join hands with the youth body to help sanitize communities and eradicate drug abuse in the kingdom.
