ODIMODI: How Notable Guests, Sympathisers Convey Late Mrs Jenny Zipamone Ukulor (Nee Deribi) Home
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, the children of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor (Nee Deribi), in company of other family members and sympathisers converged in the morning at the Vennell Hospital Mortuary in Warri, Delta State, to convey the remains of their beloved mother to Odimodi Town in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area, for her final funeral rites.
Two days earlier, precisely on Monday, March 11, her Service of Songs ceremony held at the NigerCat residence of one of her sons, Chief Isaiah Ukulor.
In fulfillment of her last wish on her death bed that she be buried in a Bible-shaped casket, the remains of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor was so conveyed from Vennell to the Miller waterfront and then placed on a decorated barge (vessel), filled to capacity with sympathisers and other guests on board, set for sail to Odimodi Town minutes before 10:00am.
On board the vessel were notable guests particularly those from the Gbaramatu Kingdom Traditional Council of Chiefs who had come to sympathise with their co-chiefs as some children of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor, namely Chief Isaiah Ukulor and Chief Victoria Ukulor, are notable members of the traditional council.
Among some of the traditional chiefs on board include High Chief P.T. Heavens JP, High Chief Samuel Okirika, Chief Reuben Tonjoh, Chief Wellington Uduboh, Chief Dickson Sindio-apaun, Chief (Mrs.) Ebi Tebela, Chief (Mrs.) Marian Anomuogharan, Chief (Mrs.)'Mercy Gbenekama, Chief (Mrs.) Eguare, Chief (Mrs.) Temeju Nelson Ogelegbanwei...
As the vessel made its inroad to Odimodi Town through the creek waters, those on board the vessel were entertained, first, with traditional Izon music supplied by Prince Smally Okpe and his band, and then, with foods and drinks served in the course of the more than six hours journey.
Intermittently, the members of the Apostolic Singers led by Ebimobowei Lucky from Dominic Zion Ministry, Oporoza Town, and members of the New Bethlehem Zion, Inikorogha (the church the deceased worshipped in Gbaramatu Kingdom) also entertained on board the vessel with songs of praises in honour of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor.
As earlier announced by a member of the church, they were there to celebrate the life of the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor who lived an exemplary god-life, and so there is no need to look sad as they are convinced Heaven has received her soul. On that note, both the musical traditional entertainment by Prince Smally and from the church were instrumental in the celebration on board the vessel as there was never any dull moment.
Below are some selected photo shoot from the overcrowded vessel that did not only include sympathisers but also those who cashed in on the activities to provide commercial services. And so, even in her death, the Late Mrs. Jenny Zipamone Ukulor put food on the table of the needy.
