Comrade Meneko, in his acceptance speech, promised that his "government will carry everybody along" while he called for all to lend him and his exco members the needed support to succeed.

Speaking further he said that one of his core priorities as President is to ensure there is potable water for inhabitants of Odidi which is a major challenge the oil-bearing community has been battling for decades.

"Our major aim is to get water for our people to drink. Because since 1968, there is no water. With the help of the elders, the youths and other stakeholders of the community, we hope to achieve it," he added.

He thanked the Almighty God and the people of Odidi for giving him the honor to lead them as President and reassured all stakeholders of his dedication to service, just as he appealed for unity, adding that "we should come and work together as one because we all are one family."

Odidi Federated Community is an oil-rich community situated in the popular OML 42, which plays host to major oil-producing multinational oil companies including the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), Neconde and others.
