The sudden death has been announced of Mama Kiriofin-ere Buborgbene, popularly known as Oporoza Ese, Oporoza Owei-owu Madiga and Butter, whose sad incident occurred after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

This is contained in a notice signed by Vincent Oboyo Juweigha on behalf of the children, and by Archbishop Dr. Phillip Tonfawei JP on behalf of the family, on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

According to the notice announcing the demise of the late Mama Buborgbene, the aged mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother was 125 years old at the time of her passing.

She hails from Kenbai Idumu in Oporoza Community, ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West, and from Torububor Idumu in Obotobo 1 Community, Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu local council area of Delta State.

Meanwhile, family members will be holding a general meeting to deliberate on the burial arrangements and planning in her honour.

According to the notice, the family meeting will hold 1:00pm at No. 9 Udumuto Quarters, Ekpen, Ekpan roundabout, by Mama No Touch Compound, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
