NUIS SUMMIT: LMH Founder Dr. Franzek Bags Award of Excellence for Service to Humanity

The Executive Director and Founder of the Legionnaire for Mankind's Health (LMH), Prof. Dr. Ernst Josef Franzek, has been honoured with an award of excellence by the Western Zone of the National Union of Izon-Ibe Students (NUIS) for his contributions to humanity.

The award was presented to the humanitarian by the NUIS National Treasurer, Comr. Gbajor Blessing, at the Western Union Students Summit that held in the P.T.I. Lecture Theatre, Effurun, Delta State, on Friday, November 1, 2024.

The summit which has as its theme "A Creek Beyond Oil: Exploring Education, Skills and Professionalism" had Mrs. Endurance Bekenawei Nwachukwu as Keynote Speaker, while Dr. Bumie Samuel Ovuru, Amb. Azigbeotu Timibikonlolouwa Wisdom and Dr. Franzek as Guest Speakers.

Mr. Patrick Padiayefagha, LMH Local Organising Officer, who represented Prof. Franzek at the summit, received on behalf of his boss the award of excellence presented by NUIS.

While appreciating the honour on his Boss, Mr. Padiayefagha, thanked NUIS Western Zone for recognising the effort of the nongovernmental organisation that has been on the forefront in its educational drive to boosting quality learning among students as well as bringing succour to the less privilege.

He stressed that, as reflected by the theme of the summit, education is a pivotal force that is key to transforming any society and that focus should be on exploring how education, skills and professionalism can help bring about that transformation to national and global development.

"We are in support of this initiative, it is part of our mission which is to provide quality education for primary and secondary school students. As an organization, we support the educational system so that the people from the creek will look beyond the oil and focus on acquiring quality education and the enhancement of their professionalism and skills.

"So as an organization, we intend to come up with skill acquisition where we are going to train people in different skill sets. We're doing all of these so the people should look beyond the oil from the creek and focus on education and skills as well," he added, stressing that LMH as a nongovernmental organisation offers free interventions not for profit, noting that "we're doing it for humanity just to improve the standard of living for mankind."

The host of the summit, Gbajor, said "the award presentation is our way of appreciating the CEO, Legionnaire for Mankind's Health, for his consistent effort at making sure that the child gets access to education, to good health, and his service to humanity."

The NUIS Western Zone National Treasurer urged LMH to continue to do more for mankind and appealed to other stakeholders to borrow a leaf from Dr. Franzek's commitment to mankind's health.
