NIGER DELTA: NUIS Igbinedion chapter commends Tinubu, Tompolo, Otuaro for promoting peace, education
The Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO) Chapter of the National Union of Izon-Ibe Students (NUIS), Edo State, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, and the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) High Chief Dennis Otuaro, PhD, for their unwavering commitment to promoting peace and education in the Niger Delta region.
In a statement signed by the President of NUIS, IUO Chapter, Comrade Minna Fiyebobira Peace, and made available to PENGlobal on Friday, March 6, 2026, the Izon student body also applauded the Renewed Hope agenda of the President, which it said "is being felt in the region."
Comrade Minna, who hails from Arogbo Kingdom, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, noted that the Tantita pipeline surveillance contract has enabled thousands of idle youths in the region to be engaged through job creation, and the Amnesty Programme's initiatives have also offered opportunities to the youths to develop themselves through education.
"We, the National Union of Izon-Ibe Students (NUIS), Igbinedion University, Okada Chapter, Edo State, led by its President, Comrade Minna Fiyebobira Peace, use this medium to salute Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for his passionate support that has deepened the peace and open up more educational opportunities to the youths in the Niger Delta region.
"Mr. President has done this through the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita that is owned by our leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo A.K.A Tompolo, and also the Presidential Amnesty Programme led by our leader, High Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro, PhD.
"Even the blind can attest to the transformation ongoing in the region. This is the first time in a long time that the Niger Delta region is experiencing true peace, as well as more of the people transparently benefitting from the stewardship of High Chief Otuaro's led Amnesty Programme," he stated.
The student body frowned at negative reports against Tantita and PAP in the media it noted were heating up the polity, and wondered if those sponsoring such reports are from the Niger Delta region or are thinking if the consequences their actions will have on many beneficiaries, an indication it said clearly shows that those behind such negative reports were doing so for selfish reasons.
Comrade Minna, a 200 Level student studying Law, added, "Despite the evidences littered everywhere that Tantita and PAP are performing very well, we still hear of some sets of people trying to undo the achievements of these institutions.
"We can't help but believe that these people do not truly care for the people of the Niger Delta. Are they giving any thought to what the consequences of their evil actions will have on us, the youths, especially if the wrong person takes over the Presidential Amnesty Programme?" the NUIS President asked rhetorically.
They therefore appealed to President Tinubu and the duo of Tompolo and High Chief Otuaro to be focused and not be distracted by those who are hell-bent to frustrate their good initiatives, just as they called on other stakeholders in the region to rise up above ethnic sentiments and support them.
