NIGER DELTA: IPF visits Ijaw Affairs Commissioner, INC Vice-President as Media Conference to Hold Dec. 11

The Ijaw Publishers' Forum (IPF) has paid a familiarisation visit to the National Vice President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Worldwide, High Chief (Dr.) Alabo Nengi James, and the Honourable Commissioner for Ijaw Affairs in Bayelsa State, HRM (Barr.) Godspower Oporomor, the Pere of Kerebiri Mein-Kingdom, OON, ahead of its media conference which has as its theme, 'Advancing the Quest for Economic Freedom in a Sieged Nation.'

The IPF team was led by the Vice President of the Forum and publisher of Niger Delta Mirror, Mr Oyinbi Onduku.

The first Ijaw media conference, which was billed to hold on Monday, December 4 in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, was however moved backwards to Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Speaking during the visit, the team lead, Onduku, appreciated the Ijaw leaders for the warm gesture and reception.

He said that the Forum's visit to the INC Vice President and the Commissioner was hinged on their leadership role as critical stakeholders in advancing the affairs of the Ijaw Nation.

Speaking further, the IPF said the first Ijaw media conference ever will be held in Bayelsa State, the heart of Ijaw Nation on December 11, with a promise that it will be explosive and remarkable.

In his response, the Ijaw commissioner advised the Ijaw publishers' to be impartial in their information dissemination, adding that he was pleased that the body came to identify with him and that the government of the state will be adequately represented at the conference.

Alss responding, the National Vice President of the INC Worldwide, Nengi James, assured the delegation he will be in attendance at the media conference.

"Ijaw issues are my primary priority, the Ijaw Nation will succeed in whatever it does, no matter what, so long Ijaw is acknowledged," the leader was quoted as saying.
