The successful conduct of the 7th Mega Elective Convention of the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS) has continued to attract commendations, with stakeholders applauding the Convention Planning Committee (CPC) led by Comrade Ubebe Brakoru Kester Denyefa, and the Electoral Committee chaired by Comrade Prosper Eguare for delivering a peaceful, transparent and well-organised electoral process.

The Convention, which held at Kokodiagbene Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, brought together students, youth leaders, delegates, community stakeholders and invited guests from across the kingdom, on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

One of the major highlights of the event was the manifesto session, during which aspirants seeking various positions in the association addressed delegates and outlined their visions, programmes and policy directions ahead of the commencement of voting.

The presentations provided contestants with the opportunity to engage members of the association, articulate their leadership agenda and answer expectations of delegates in an atmosphere marked by orderliness, mutual respect and healthy democratic competition.

The exercise was supervised by the Electoral Committee under the leadership of Comrade Eguare, whose team was widely praised for ensuring fairness, transparency and adherence to the electoral guidelines throughout the convention.

Similarly, the Convention Planning Committee, headed by Comrade Ubebe, received commendation for its meticulous planning and coordination, which ensured the smooth flow of activities from accreditation and manifesto presentations to the election and other convention programmes.

Participants described the convention as one of the most organised in the history of the association, noting that the peaceful atmosphere reflected the commitment of the organisers, contestants and delegates to strengthening democratic values within NAGS.

Observers further expressed optimism that the successful conduct of the convention would deepen unity among Gbaramatu students and inspire the newly elected leadership to advance the association's vision of promoting academic excellence, cultural heritage, youth development and purposeful leadership across the kingdom.

Among personalities in attendance include former NAGS presidents, Comrade Jackson Timiyan, Ph.D; Comrade Freeborn Abraye, Comrade Doubra Jeremiah Timiyan, the Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community, Comrade Ark Selegha; the executive leadership of the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) led by its President, Mr. Egbejule Arerebo Kingsley; pioneer president of National Association of Gbaramatu Female Graduates.

Others are Mrs. Endurance Bekenawei Nwachukwu and President, Comrade Glory Otutufegha; the Councilor representing Okerenkoko Ward in Warri South-West Legislative Chamber, Hon. Sinwa Ebizi; the Chairman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Gbaramatu Kingdom, Conrade Zikurebai Oyinkuro Wazo; the President of Kokodiagbene Youth Development Movement (KYDM), Comrade Blessing Laide;  among others.
