The Pere of Olodiama Kingdom in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, HRM Godwin Ogonyinbo (Alagbabunafa III), has been honoured with the Most Excellent Theophilus Award by Archbishop Godwyns Soroaye, JP, making the traditional father the first recipient to receive an award from the newly elevated Archbishop.

The award was presented to Alagbabunafa III by the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, also known as Jeremi Kingdom in Ughelli South LGA, HRM Dr. Matthew Ediri Egbi, JP, Owahwa II, during the 30th Anniversary / Elevation and Enthronement of the Archbishop on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

According to Archbishop Soroaye, Alagbabunafa III was honoured with the award in recognition of his love for God and the things of God. 

The Archbishop also revealed that the Most Excellent Theophilus Award is the highest award his ministry—the Covenant Ark of Safety Int'l (CASI) Heroes Assembly Inc.—has ever presented to any recipient.

The Pere of Olodiama Kingdom was among five personalities that were awarded with the highest honours by CASI.

In his response, Alagbabunafa III thanked the Archbishop Soroaye and the entire members of the ministry for the honour bestowed on his personality, and commended the church leadership for their efforts.

He also revealed that his relationship with the Archbishop has come a long way, recalling how he witnessed the elevation of Soroaye to the status of Bishop, and once again his being present to witness that of the elevation and enthronement to Archbishop.

Alagbabunafa III, who described the Archbishop as a very cheerful person irrespective of his state or condition, congratulated Archbishop Soroaye on his 30th Anniversary in the ministry, and prayed the Almighty God to continuously bless and elevate him.

The elevation and enthronement of Archbishop Soroaye was performed by His Grace, Archbishop Emmanuel Emgboukuro Adaka in the church auditorium at Soroaye Estate, Gbekere, in Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
