MARRIAGE RECEPTION: Izoukumor, Okpoye, Others Grace Celebration of Love of Mr & Mrs (Princess) Panama

The Executive Director of Social Services and the Commissioner representing Ijaw ethnic nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Favour Izoukumor and Hon. Spencer Okpoye, respectively, were among top dignitaries that graced the marriage reception ceremony of Mr. and Mrs. (Princess) Harrison Panama to celebrate and show the newly married couple love.

The bride is the daughter of the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom in the Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Elder Capt. King Joseph Ijawperebo Timiyan (JP), Torububou 1, Agbonu, who doubles as the Chairman of Delta State Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum.

The marriage reception ceremony which held at the Jubilee Retreat Conference Center in Enerhen, Delta State, on Saturday, December 2, 2023, was preceded by a wedding ceremony at the Christ Chosen Church of God Int'l, Okumagba 3, Warri, where the couple exchanged their marital vows.

Also in attendance at the marriage reception ceremony are members of the Ogulagha Kingdom Traditional Council of Chiefs, and chiefs from Gbaramatu Kingdom, as well as relatives, friends and well-wishers who also thronged out en masse with gifts for the beautiful and handsome couple.

Major highlights of the ceremony featured the cutting of the wedding cake by the latest couple, am entertainment dance session to music supplied by the music king of Isaba Kingdom, Prince Abraham; presentation of gifts and entertainment of guests with foods and drinks.

Joining guests that presented gifts at the ceremony are the Ogulagha chiefs who collectively gifted the couple a brand new refrigerator set to add to their list of household gifted items.

The chairman of the occasion, Chief Paul Ukuli, offered counsel to the couple. He stressed on the importance of "understanding" in the home as the hallmark of a successful marriage as it will help the couple to diffuse conflicts in their home, and that they show maturity when handling their differences. 

He also advised the wife to be submissive to her husband and that the husband should in return love his wife in adherence to the Christian teaching on marriage, while he also reminded them of the power of communication in their home.

Recall that the couple had their traditional marriage ceremony on Thursday, November 30 where the groom, Mr. Panama fulfilled all requirements pertaining to the payment of dowry for his beloved bride, Princess Sandra. 

The couple later did their Thanksgiving at the Christ Chosen Church of God Int'l, on Sunday, December 3, on the success of their traditional and wedding ceremonies.
