MARRIAGE: A Dream Come True for Engr. David & Mrs. Jessica Ebikeme as the Couple Begins July as Husband and Wife
Marriage is one of the aspirations of every young man and woman, and for Jessica John and Engr. David Ebikeme, it was a dream come true for the lovely couple as their long and much awaited day finally arrived on Saturday, July 1, 2023. And what's more? Their marriage was the perfect gift to begin the new month.
The beautiful bride, Jessica, hails from the family of Late Fenfen John in Zafawei Quarter, Aghoro Town, Iduwini Kingdom in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, while the groom hails from the family of Late Onitsha Ebikeme in Azama Town, Aruku Quarter, Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West LGA of Delta State.
The traditional marriage ceremony of the couple held at the residence of the bride's family at Jeddo community near Warri, and was later followed by a reception ceremony at the Bimos Hotel along Airport Road, Warri.
The beautiful and handsome couple received prayers of blessings from elders in the family in the height of the traditional marriage ceremony that also featured introduction and entertainment by both the bride and the groom's family, culminating with the payment of the dowry of the bride, after which the bride was unveiled and handed over to her husband.
The newly married couple later proceeded to their reception venue where families, friends and other well-wishers from Bayelsa, Delta and other places of resident had converged for the celebration of the success of the traditional marriage.
Gifts in cash and kind were presented to the couple during the reception party which also had highlights of dance by the newly married pair, the cutting of their marriage cake that was topped with the romantic task of feeding each other in a show of love.
Engr. David, the groom, is a brother to the popular Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) President, Hon. Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme, who also was a one-time SSA on community development to the former governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
