LG POLLS: Sampolo, other Warri South-West Councillorship candidates receive PDP flag
The People's Democratic Party, PDP, councillorship candidate representing Kunukunuma Ward in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Ekpemupolo Idukedoumene Samuel, popularly known as Sampolo, has received, among other candidates, the party's flag ahead of the forthcoming LG polls in the council area.
Mr. Ekpemupolo was handed the party's flag by the PDP Chairman in Warri South-West, Chief Favour Izoukumor, during a tour of the campaign train of the party to Ugborodo and Oporoza communities on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Chief Izoukumor, alongside other party leaders and faithfuls, charged the candidates to make a difference in leading, to deliver their wards to the PDP in the forthcoming polls by not going to sleep but to vigorously take the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to their wards.
Leading party leaders at the campaign tour is the former Warri South-West LG Council chairman and currently the PDP Warri South-West Campaign chairman, Hon. George Ekpemupolo, who was joined by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; and the member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ereyitomi Thomas, among others.
The councillorship candidates spread across the various wards in Warri South-West council area, along with their supporters, who were adorned in colourful attires and branded wears, added colour to the event.
Sampolo, running on the campaign mandate of effective representation and innovative leadership, reiterated his commitment to work in line with his mandate and to ensure that the grassroots feel the presence of government.
He assured supporters and other lovers of the PDP to vote massively for the party's candidates in the forthcoming LG polls while stressing that the PDP believes in the younger generation as demonstrated in the youthful exuberance of its chosen candidates, who are expected to bring to the grassroots the 21st century innovative leadership.
Sampolo, alongside other candidates, later paid a courtesy visit to a youth leader, Sir Godfrey Tare Pondi, popularly known as King of the Youths, at his private residence in Kurutie Federated Community, the take-off site of the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU, Okerenkoko.
