LATE PA. RICHARD ODEH: Family of Hit-and-Run Victim Go Spiritual, Issue 7-Day Ultimatum to Culprit

The family of late Pa Richard Odeh, who was killed along Warri-Sapele Road in Warri, Delta State, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, by a hit-and-run driver of an alleged black Spyder car model, have issued a seven-day ultimatum to the culprit to report him/herself to the family of the deceased or be ready to face the consequences of his/her action.

The family made the declaration on New Year's day through the eldest child, Evangelist Augustina, after rising from a family meeting over the death of their father.

Speaking on the ultimatum on behalf of the family, the last child of the deceased, Mr. Efe, said "There is always a 'Justice Movement' by the family in situations like this, to seek for justice.

"The family is giving the perpetrator seven days to report to the nearest police station inorder to reach and make peace with the family. Alternatively, the perpetrator can reach the family by contacting Augustina on 09013123147 and Ogaga on 07083876688," he further disclosed.

According to the family, an eye witness account of the tragic accident that claimed the life of 81-year-old Pa. Odeh who hails from Kokori town in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, had it that the deceased was about to cross the road close to Etuwewe junction along Deco Road in Warri when he was hit by the aforementioned vehicle.

"There is one filling station at Etuwewe junction along Deco Road," narrated the last child of late Pa. Odeh. "We were told that my dad was standing by the filling station trying to cross the road when the driver of the car hit my father. Witnesses started shouting 'Ole!' (thief) which prompted the driver to enter Etuwhewhe and escaped," he narrated.

The deceased, who sustained wounds on the head in the process of the tragic accident, was rushed by sympathisers to Capitol Hill hospital in Warri at about 6pm but gave up the ghost. His corpse has since been deposited at the Noble Mortuary along DSC Expressway.

Until his sudden death, the late Pa. Odeh popularly known as 'Amgba' (sic) resides in his compound at Aghagha Layout, Okoro Street by Assemblies of God Church in Warri.
