LATE MRS. FELICIA OMATIE ADAM: Final Goodbye to a Songstress, Loving Mother
After a brief Christian funeral service, the families and other sympathisers bid final farewell to a songstress, late Mrs. Felicia Omatie Adam nee Oghomienor, whose remains was laid to eternal rest in Urhuoka-Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Earlier in the day, the body of the 66 year old late mother and grandmother was conveyed in a motorcade from the Noble Mortuary along Ovwian Aladja Express way in Udu LGA of the state to her hometown with a brief stopover at her husband's house.
The funeral service was conducted by members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the church she last worshipped in until her demise on Christmas day, December 25, 2024.
In the tribute session, the senior in-law, Pastor Samuel Ukuli, a senior pastor in the RCCG revealed that, unlike the practice among many mothers who set discord in the homes of their daughters, praised his late mother in-law for being a different breed that embraced love, unity, encouragement, and utilised prayers as a weapon to advance the family as a caring mother that she was.
The late Mrs. Felicia Omatie Adam is described as a very hardworking woman and loving mother, who supported her family, including the education of her children; and as a lover of God, as she utilised her melodic voice to praise God.
According to her biography, "The late Mrs. Felicia Omatie Adam was born in 1958 into the family of late Baba Oghomienor Otojarerhi and late (Nene) Mrs. Oghenebrume Oghomienor of Urhuoka - Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
"Mama was not opportune to have a formal education while growing up. She was however involved in farming and trading activities with her parents.
"Mama was born into a Christian home where she was a great singer with a Golden Voice (Chorister) in the Apostolic Church, Urhuoka.
"She was married to her husband, Mr. Maurice. E. Adam, at age 18. Being an experienced trader aand a hardworking and virtuous woman, she Supported her husband with her trading business and sponsored her children to acquire formal education.
"Mama was baptised (by immersion) at God's Grace Ministry. She later joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) as a bonafide member before her demise.
"She is survived by her husband, Papa (Mr.) Maurice. E. Adam, seven (7) Children, fifteen (15) grandchildren and three (3) great grandchildren.
"As earlier mentioned, Mama was a hardworking woman, but in addition she was a caring and loving mother to all her children, to every member of the family, and the society at large when she was alive.
"Our mother was a devoted Christian. She worshipped and served the Almighty God until her death on the 25th of December, 2024. Rest in Peace our lovely and caring mother," the biography ends.
The funeral service was followed by a Thanksgiving service at the RCCG Mount Carmel Model Parish in Udu on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
