Comrade Gift Imoni Timiyan, a native of Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has declared for the leadership position of Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) in the youth arm, Kokodiagbene Youth Development Movement (KYDM), with a promise to speak for the interests of youths if elected into the aspired position.

Comrade Gift made the promise on Sunday, July 2, 2023, in his declaration for the position of P.R.O. while he also appealed to the body of youths for their support.

Receiving the aspirant on behalf of the youths during the declaration and appeal for support, the KYDM vice president, Comr. John Akaruwei, counseled the aspirant to not forget his promises but live up to expectations if elected.

“The youth will be expecting a lot of things from me,” said Comrade Gift in a brief chat with PENGlobal Politics on what his other plans are for the youths of KYDM if elected as P.R.O. in the youth body. 

“Like in the area of sports, particularly the football aspect, I will make sure they get some support in terms of the provisions of football kits. As energetic youths, football is a game that brings us together, and the youths are lacking football kits like boots, jerseys and balls in that regard.

“Then the youths also need water. There is a water project we did before during the Comrade Superior Adurumokumor-led youth executive when I was Assistant Secretary; but still it has not been completed. I and my president will ensure that project is completed by God’s grace,” he added.

Continuing, he appealed to the youths to give him their massive support having garnered some experiences in the past as a member of a previous executive youth body, experience he is certain will be a plus to KYDM.

According to the KYDM constitution, a new body of youth executives are due to continue the leadership of the youth body by 14th November 2023.
