KYDM 2023: I Will Work With the Community Chairman — Comr. Laide, Promises to Tackle Youth Challenges in Education, Sports, Others

Comrade Blessing Laide, a youth aspirant for the position of president in Kokodiagbene Youth Development Movement, KYDM, the youth arm of Kokodiagbene community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West council area of Delta State, has promised to work hand-in-hand with the community upper executive leadership to bring about the much needed transformation of the youth body if elected president.

Laide, who is popularly known as Egbengben 1, made the declaration on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Timlele Bar, Bendel Estate in Warri, along side Comrade Glory Wiliki and Comrade Faith Igere, who are both aspiring for Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) and Financial Secretary, respectively, in KYDM.

Giving a brief speech, Comr. Laide listed his agenda for the youth to include unifying the youth body, raising the standard of education, sports development and pursue achieving potable water, in conjunction with the chairman, for the benefit of all members.

"It is not something I will do once in my tenure," noted Comrade Laide, while addressing the youth body. "Rather, if I become president, I will work with the community chairman to see that things are being done in favour of the youths," he added, while he pleaded for support of his ambition and dream.

Comrade Ezekiel Akafawei, the P.R.O of KYDM, who received the aspirants on behalf of the KYDM President, Comrade Godspower Ipopo, wished them success in their aspirations and urged them to stay true to their agenda for the youth body.

Among Kokodiagbene youths in attendance are: Engr. Johnson Powede (who is also the PDP Chairman, Ward 20, Gbaramatu Kingdom), Mr. Kudos Ogelegbanwei, Comr. Happy Evene (Spokesman to Comr. Laide), Comr. Bako Igere, Mr. Solomon Keniye, Mr. Benjamin Gelemo, Comr. Present Ipopo, Mrs. Torkere Brubor, among others.

Recall that the aspirants had previously, precisely on May 27, 2023, first indicated their desire to occupy KYDM leadership positions, with this current visit a follow-up. Meanwhile, elections are billed to be conducted in the later part of 2023 to fill up KYDM leadership positions.
