The Kopaville app, a first of its kind rich cultural mobile phone application, is set for its fundraising and launching ceremony at The KFT Place along NNPC Housing Complex Road off Airport Road (Link Road) in Ekpan, Delta State, by 12noon on Saturday, 27 July 2024.

Pioneered by Mr. Ebikeme Paul, a native of Azama and Okerenkoko communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, the Kopaville app is a cultural mobile application that is focused on appreciating the values and promoting the Ijaw cultural heritage as well as other different cultural identities.

Akin to the national youth service scheme, NYSC, which has helped to build unity across among Nigerians, the Kopaville app is geared towards building and retaining cultural identity by uniting individuals of different cultures, while it also presents an arena for the promotion and the celebration of cultures.

According to the founder, Mr. Ebikeme, the features of the Kopaville app include Kopamarket, dating, jobs/services, messaging, videos/pictures, among other social tools.

"In this 21st century, with the aid of the Internet, mobile phones as well as other mobile technologies have made the world a global village as we now live next door to citizens all over the world through a simple touch on our phones and computers.

"Kopaville app is an attempt to make positive use of the Internet and mobile technologies to promote our cultures which makes each one of the various ethnic groups in our region and the country at large unique, bringing varieties which add colours to our existence," he explained.

Continuing he said, "The goal and mission is to enable user(s) of different tribes/languages to easily learn about the cultures of others, and to build respect as user(s) of the app. We are targeting to bring to light how each ethnic group (minority/majority) is important either," he stressed.

Mr. Ebikeme called on the Ijaws and other ethnic groups in Nigeria to be a part of the ceremony that will witness the unveiling of the Kopaville app alongside other exciting activities including musical entertainment by Ijaw highlife musician, the Paddle of Niger Delta, Chief Barr. Smooth.

"I implore the beautiful people of the Gbaramatu heritage and all other Izon Nation's leaders, kings, chiefs, sons and daughters, as well as all other ethnic groups to key into this initiative as we invite them to grace our fundraising and launching of the Kopaville app on Saturday, 27 July, at The KFT Place.

"The Kopaville app promises to be exciting and interesting. Deltans, Niger Deltans and Nigerians at large should not miss this historical event."
