A youth leader, Snr. Comr. Happy Evene, has hailed the Comr. Pedro Bekenawei-led Kokodiagbene executive council, as well as the elders, women and youths over the peaceful conduct of the recent concluded election that held in the community town hall on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Snr. Comr. Evene gave the commendation in a congratulatory message to the community leadership with a copy made available to PENGlobal Community on Friday.
Recall that the people of Kokodiagbene successfully elected a new executive leadership on Thursday which will take over the reins of affairs of the current leadership after swearing in January 13, 2025.
Part of the message reads: "Kokodiagbene community on Thursday (October 31) closed the month of October with a democratic exercise that produced successfully a new set of executive council members who will be sworn-in by January 2025 to continue to pilot the affairs of the community.
"It is on such laudable note that I use this medium to first appreciate the current leadership of Comrade Pedro Tuwayerin Bekenawei for carrying out such a fair, transparent and peaceful exercise.
"Secondly, I thank the elders, chiefs, and women of Kokodiagbene for their wisdom in the conduct of the exercise that was devoid of any conflicts. They demonstrated leadership by example, on their conduct and such influence will wear off on the youths.
"Thirdly, I greet Kokodiagbene youths for demonstrating the desire to be involved in community politics by participating in the process. This interest shown by the youths is a commendable one and I urge them to also be active in other affairs in relation to community development," he added.
Snr. Comr. Evene appealed to all stakeholders in the community irrespective of their interests to join hands together so as to collectively build the community of their dreams.
