Reacting to the development, stakeholders in the community commended the exco for its achievements so far as well as for bringing sanity to the community, while calling for more engagements via consultations of key stakeholders.
"We saw sincerity and transparency," said Double Chief George Timiyan, the Miyenkeremowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, who was appointed by the exco as Chairman of the annually celebrated Amasuo-Ugeh Festival Planning Committee.
"We encourage them to continue in that manner. Also, most of the meetings before it gets to the end, you'll witness misunderstanding. But this very meeting was very peaceful, which means everybody believe, trust them.
"The only thing I advise them is that they should consult stakeholders before they make any announcement or before they take any decision as far as the community is concerned in order to find out from some of the stakeholders comprising the chiefs, or even the women leaders, so that everybody will be on one page. Doing things to surprise the community is not the best," he counseled.
Also speaking, Chief (Elder) Paul Ukuli, the Amadiwei of Kokodiagbene, said, "The Comrade Ark Selegha-led executive have done well. They actually took over government with a bulk of challenges. They were able to address the issues of education to a greater extent and they also brought sanity, which has been put into the system, because defaulters of law are now being punished. Those who still deal on hard drugs the disciplinary committee should be tasked properly to monitor and punish them.
"Also, they have constituted the Amasuo-Ugeh Festival committee that encompasses all the people from the local and the urban, which is a good step to bring together ideas that will foster unity among the community members. And for the first time the Christian body were given opportunity to make out their budget, to meet and discuss. This is a step forward.
"They have planned capital projects in the community which they actually mentioned. If those projects are actually embarked upon, this administration will achieve more. I encourage them to do more and to make wider consultations with the community leaders. I also charge them to serve diligently and to avoid doing things that will jeopardize the process.
"For me, they have done well. I also pray to the Lord will give them more wisdom in piloting the affairs of the community in the next three years to come. I congratulate them for their achievement so far, for the work they have done," the Amadiwei added.
