KOKODIAGBENE: Aketekpe, Tompolo, Tonlagha, Pondi, Otuaro, Other Eminent Guests for Amasuo-Ugeh Festival 2024
Over thirty high profile dignitaries as contained in the official invitation to the 17th Amasuo-Ugeh Festival, which begins from Friday, December 20, to Sunday, December 22, 2024, are expected to grace the annual celebration, according to the host, Comr. Pedro Bekenawei, the executive council chairman of Kokodiagbene community, and the festival's planning committee chairman and secretary, Chief George Timiyan JP and Comrade Jackson Timiyan, respectively.
Leading the high profile guests is the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II JP (Aketekpe, Agadagba) as Traditional Father of the Day; the Ibe Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation, High Chief Dr Government Ekpemupolo as Father of the Day; the Executive Director of Fenog Nigeria Limited, Mr. Matthew Tonlagha as Special Guest of Honour; and Archbishop Philip Tonfawei as Spiritual Father of the Day.
The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), High Chief Dennis Otuaro P.hD is the Chairman, and Hon. Beauty Warijouwei is the Chairlady of the occasion; while the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), High Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi; the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; the member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi; and the chairman of Warri South-West LG Council, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni are Guests of Honour; with the General Manager, Operations, TSSNL, Sir Godfrey Pondi as the Fundraising Chairman.
Other special guests include former deputy governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dcn. Barr. Kingsley Otuaro; the Bolouwei of Niger Delta, Chief Tunde Smooth; the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief Amb. With music to be supplied by Ijaw highlife musician Dr. Alfred Izon-Ebi and His Because of Love Crew, the 17th edition of the Amasuo-Ugeh Festival in the oil-rich Kokodiagbene community will feature other entertainment and cultural activities.
According to the planning committee chairman, the festival which opens on Friday with prayer session will also feature the Tompolo Peace and Unity Football competition, as well as an exposition on business and relationship from renowned experts, among other educative programmes.
