IPF: Ijaw Publishers' Forum holds national election

The Ijaw Publishers' Forum (IPF) holds its national election today (January 30, 2026) to elect new executive members that will pilot the umbrella body of Ijaw professional media whose mission is"Telling the Ijaw story".

The election will take place 12 noon at the Africa 4 Peace Games Village and Gym Center in Ugolo near Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

Members of the IPF contesting for various positions are Comrade Ozobo Austin (President), Comrade Onduku Charlse Oyinbi (Vice President), Comrade Magbei Tare (Secretary), Comrade Kagbala Ezekiel (Public Relations Officer).

Others are Comrade Benjamin Benedict Tamaradoubra (Assistant Secretary), Comrade Kanjo Ebitibi Joseph (Financial Secretary), Comrade Mingo T. Friday (Treasurer), Comrade Ekpegha Tamaraupreye (Welfare Officer).

According to the IPF National Electoral Committee (N-ELECO) chaired by Abai Francis with Opukeme Cletus as Secretary and Demebide Mienbibo Anthony as member, the voting process is by open secret ballot and is expected to be a seamless exercise.

Independent external observers from various media organisations will be on ground to monitor the exercise. 

The IPF national election marks the second election conducted to elect members into executive office. Its pioneer election was conducted by Pastor Akemetobu Arex which produced its first set of executives led by Comrade Ozobo Austin.
