IPF: Delta Security Chief Boro Opudu Commends Ijaw Publishers Forum, to Grace Inauguration
The Chairman, Waterways and Inland Security Committee in Delta State, Chief Boro Opudu, has commended the Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF), an umbrella body of Ijaw professionals in the media industry, for fostering Ijaw unity and development.
Opudu gave the commendation when a delegation of IPF members comprising of media executives that were led by its president Comr. Ozobo Austin paid him an official visit at his office in Warri, on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Comr. Ozobo during his briefing hailed Opudu for his input towards maintaining law and order in the state over the years as a security expert, noting further that the efforts of the likes of Opudu has contributed greatly to the peace and development experienced across Delta state.
The IPF President further explained that the need for the Forum to collaborate with state actors such as Opudu, cannot be over-emphasized, while he promised that the body will continue to open its doors for effective collaborations.
In his response, the security expert described the IPF's move to unite all media practitioners across Ijaw nation towards achieving a collective goal as "commendable."
He said, "We are open to working with the IPF. My Committee is a sensitive one and needs all positive forms of collaboration for effective service delivery," Opudu said.
Opudu said he is willing to assist the IPF "with every necessary support towards ensuring that the goals and objectives of this intellectual body are fulfilled," he added.
Opudu, who declared himself available for the forthcoming inauguration ceremony slated for Thursday, February 29, 2024, will be appearing as a Guest of Honour alongside other dignitaries.
