The Association's commendation is contained in a statement released by its President, Comrade Louis Ogori Guwor, over the weekend.
The youth president noted that the laudable project will go a long way to boost commerce among inhabitants of the affected communities linked up by the road project
He said, "We, the Ogulagha Youth Association under its President, Comrade Louis Ogori Guwor, on behalf of the youths salute the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori (JP), for the successful award, construction, completion and inauguration of the 12.1 kilometer Ogulagha - Okuntu - Odimodi Road.
"This strategic project will go a long way to cut down the cost of transportation and enhance commerce among the inhabitants of the affected communities by the road project.
"It has been a long time since we witnessed such a monumental project in the riverine areas by the government, and this project demonstrates the zeal of the governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his MORE Agenda to impact on the riverine areas," President Guwor added.
However, the Ogulagha Youth Association also appealed to the Delta State Government to pay attention to the internal road network in Ogulagha community as internal roads are vital assets to inhabitants.
According to the Association, Ogulagha community is in need of internal access roads to boost internal economic activities and to enhance easy movement, stressing that the nature of the internal roads are in bad shape.
"While we commend Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the Ogulagha - Okuntu - Odimodi road project, we further appeal that the governor pay attention to also construct internal roads to further open up Ogulagha community to ease the doing of business," he stated.
It would be recalled that Governor Oborevwori inaugurated the 12.1km Ogulagha - Okuntu - Odimodi Road on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while the governor also assured residents of riverine communities of more roads, schools, and shore protection projects, noting that riverine communities, as major contributors to the nation’s wealth, deserve tangible dividends of good governance.
