INAUGURATION: Ijaw Traditional Fathers Commend IPF, to Grace Ceremony Feb. 29
Ahead of its maiden inauguration, the Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF) has received another boost from prominent Ijaw traditional rulers in commendation of its laudable initiative to unite and to speak together in one voice under the elected body of the Forum.
The commendation was given by the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom and 1st Vice Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama VIII (JP), and the Pere of Ogbolubiri Kingdom, HRM Johnbull Polokowei, Apiarogun, Ongolo 1 when the Forum paid them a courtesy visit on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
According to the president of the Forum, Comr. Ozobo Austin in his briefing during the visit, hinted on the resolve by members of the IPF “to speak in one voice under one umbrella of the Ijaw Publishers Forum.”
Going forward, he added that, "We have conducted an election and I emerged as the president. We deem it fit to come and inform you as our father that the body will be inaugurating its elected executives and we will be grateful to have you as our Royal Father of the day".
Pere Luke-Kalanama appreciated the visit and promised to grace the historic event of the Forum, adding that he will make time from his busy schedule to attend the inauguration.
Also reacting, the Pere of the Ogbolubiri Kingdom, HRM Johnbull Polokowei, expressed his delight over the birth of IPF and encouraged the body to dwell together in unity, while he also promised to grace the occasion.
Other prominent Ijaw leaders are expected to grace the IPF inauguration which comes up on Thursday, February 29, at the Chief Tunde Smooth (SMUTUNS) Playground near NPA in Warri.
