IJAW MEDIA CONFERENCE: DESOPADEC Commissioner commends IPF, Promises Participation, Support
The Commissioner representing Ijaw ethnic nationality on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Spencer Okpoye, has commended the Ijaw Publishers' Forum (IPF) for its forthcoming groundbreaking Ijaw Media Conference.
The DESOPADEC Commissioner gave the commendation as well as pledged his participation and support for the event when the lPF delegation led by its president and event planning committee chairman Comr. Ozobo Austin, paid him an official visit in Warri.
The conference which is set to hold in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, with the theme, "Advancing the Quest for Economic/Political Freedom in a Siege Nation," is slated for Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
Hon. Okpoye during the visit hailed the IPF's initiatives, describing it as a "timely intervention" that provides a platform for meaningful discussions on entrepreneurship, job creation, and environmental safety in the Niger Delta region.
This significant development underscores the IPF's commitment to promoting economic and political development and media excellence in the Ijaw Nation and the Niger Delta region as the conference promises to foster economic discourse and empower indigenous media professionals.
The pioneer media conference also aims to unite leaders and stakeholders of the Ijaw Nation as well as to explore innovative solutions for the economic growth of the Niger Delta region at large.
The conference is expected to attract high-level participation from government officials, media practitioners, and stakeholders in the Ijaw Nation.
