The Ijaw Publishers' Forum, IPF, has commended its patron, Chief Kestin Pondi, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for awarding scholarship, including cost of accommodation, to 35 deserving Ijaw sons and daughters to study Ijaw language at the College of Education, Warri, Delta State, in a move to boost the literacy of the language.

The IPF's national president, Comr. Ozobo Austin, gave the commendation penultimate weekend while addressing a section of the media on the need for Ijaw political office holders to use their offices to groom the youths and to attract meaningful development to their communities.

According to Comr. Ozobo, the gesture of Chief Pondi expressly showed his love for the Ijaw language, its people, his desire to preserve the Ijaw language from going extinct, as well as it further demonstrates his passion to help humanity across board.

The IPF's president further said that what the Tantita Boss had done is one of the best services offered to Ijaw Nation, just as he hailed Chief Pondi's for his benevolent, charismatic and transformational leadership style which is first of its kind, and that the scholarship offered to the 35 Ijaw sons and daughters would go a long way in preserving the Ijaw dialect for ages.

The Forum also frowned at some Ijaw political office holders, who out of sentiment and greed, deprive the youths from benefiting from opportunities in their offices despite it is on government expenditure.

"l commend Chief Kestin Pondi for his continuous and selfless charitable and philanthropical services to humanity. He has written his name in gold in the Guinness Book of records. I cherish his courage and drive for sustaining it. We need more of Pondi's benevolence and selfless sacrifices to transform and advance our youths and communities," Ozobo said.

The IPF however urged Ijaw political office holders to emulate Pondi's gesture by using their offices to groom the youths, women and to attract meaningful development to their communities rather than closing the doors of opportunities against their people.
