IGOBA: Teibowei commends Guwor over solar powered street lights

The Executive Chairman of Igoba Federated Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Apst. Teibowei Gift, has commended the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, for donating solar powered street lights to help light up the creek settlement at nightfall.

According to Apst. Teibowei, the solar powered street lights, numbering 20, arrived the community on Sunday, April 6, 2025, awaiting installations.

He said that the development will go a long way to ease movement in the community at night and enhance security and safety of the community's inhabitants, just as he appealed for more quantities of the solar powered street lights.

Apst. Teibowei also called on the commissions of the State government and agencies of the federal government to come to the aid of the community as it is lacking basic infrastructures such as a landing jetty, portable water, walkways among other amenities that would ease the life of the people.

The arrival of the solar powered street lights has changed the mood of indigenes in the community who applauded the Speaker and prayed for more project execution in the community.

Adding his voice to the commendation, another community leader who is the chairman of Igoba Town Planning Committee, Chief Friday Bobo, stated that the Speaker's action is an encouragement and has reaffirmed his commitment to contribute to the ongoing development of the community.

It was learnt that the provision of the solar powered street lights is part of the Speaker's resolve to fulfill his mandate of good governance to the community that is one of his staunch supporters during the last campaign.

Igoba Federated Community is one of the major communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom situated inside the creeks and is regarded as one of the sacred settlements with a rich history of purpose.
