IDUWINI KINGDOM: Chief Gbenekama, wife of Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, bags chieftaincy title in Bayelsa State

His Royal Majesty, King Joel E. Ebani JP (Ogiobo IX), the Grand Pere of Iduwini Kingdom in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has honoured Chief (Mrs.) Gbenekama Mercy, wife of the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West council area of Delta State, High Chief Amb. Dr. Godspower Gbenekama JP, with the chieftaincy title of Miyentonghan-ere.

The chieftaincy title was bestowed on Chief Gbenekama at the traditional palace of His Majesty in the ancient community of Amatu 1, on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Chief Gbenekama, who is the custodian of the chieftaincy title of Ibe-Uyadon-ere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, has now joined the ranks of double chief on her recent conferment as the Miyentonghan-ere of Iduwini Kingdom.

Speaking on her latest achievement, Chief Gbenekama said the chieftaincy title is an upliftment to her and declared that it is the will of God who made the elevation possible.

Chief Gbenekama, who said that she has an heritage in Iduwini Kingdom by relation, revealed that it was an honour on her personality as she didn't request for the title, but was called upon to receive the honour as a result of her antecedents as a chief.

The Miyentonghan-ere thanked the Pere of Iduwini Kingdom and the traditional council for deeming her fit to receive the honourable title and prayed God for the manifestation of what the people of Iduwini saw in her that gave her the entitlement.

Personalities that witnessed the conferment of the chieftaincy title are the Bebefiyewei of Iduwini Kingdom, Chief Nepa Towei; the Doumiewei of Iduwini Kingdom; Chief Oke Potoki; the Amadiwei of Azama community, Chief William Emami A.K.A. Azagidi; among others in attendance.
