HOTEL DE PRINCESS ROYALE: The Hospitality Brand Making a Difference in Ogulagha

updated 12 Mar, 2024

Hotel De Princess Royale, the latest hospitality brand in the heart of Ogulagha Town in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, will not at first sight strike you as an hotel or some sort of relaxation spot. In fact, it could pass for a residential building, except for the stylish decors and white paintings that might arouse your suspicion. Not until you venture into its interior will it dawn on you that this is the most portable hospitality brand ever in Ogulagha Town.

Established by Chief Princess Caroline Ene (JP), the custodian of the traditional title of Bolouere of Ogulagha Kingdom in the Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, it is not surprising that the hospitality brand is overshadowed with what seems like a foreign concept but with local content. But why not? Having traveled far and wide around the earthly globe, this should not be unexpected.

Although Hotel De Princess Royale officially opened its doors for business on Saturday, March 9, 2024, its alluring looks have placed it on high demand among guests in Ogulagha Town as they have been steadily frequenting the hospitality brand which is always fully booked.

Hotel De Princess Royale hosts just eight (8) rooms that are each tagged with a different identities ranging from San Siro, Houston, San Antonio, Niagara Falls, to Camp David, Forcados, Ene Suite, and Washington. It offers accommodation, outdoor bar, restaurant and suite services, as well as its interior contains a public convenience for visitors, a store room and of course, a reception to attend to its numerable guests.

"I want to do something different," stated the founder of Hotel De Princess Royale, Chief Ene, in a chat with PENGlobal Business on its official opening day. "Like someone asked me a name on one of the room doors, 'Camp David'. People were thinking it was a Bible thing. No. Camp David is the second home of the President of the United States of America. So I like picking my things uniquely. Everything I picked there I have a reason for it," she added.

"I know that from a small beginning we will always grow bigger," she continued with emphasis on the small size of the hotel but with exquisite touch. "But I want to impress on everyone that it is not just because of money; I want to maintain a standard. Like someone complained in the course of the project that I'm handling it like it's my personal house. But the aim is that when people leave their home, they should be able to experience comfort when they come here.

"Some even commend us that the rates we charge are worth the rooms. There are many hotels here but for me I want to offer something unique and maintain that standard. If I don't do that, what impresion will I be having on people that I've been traveling?" she asked rhetorically.

On the motivation for establishing Hotel De Princess Royale, she disclosed, "If you've been traveling or you're a traveler, when you go out and see good things, you have to bring those things back home. And so, anything I'm doing, I'm not just doing it because of the profit or for the gain. No! I want to make something different and impress people on that line of thinking."

A tour of the rooms in the Hotel De Princess Royale reveals spacious rooms that are well furnished with a mini table, chairs, a television set, a small fridge, art paintings hung on the wall to add beauty, beddings and varieties of lightings including air conditioning units. Also, there is a restroom for convenience.

Speaking to Mr. Gabriel Tulagha, the Manager of Hotel De Princess Royale, he stated that the hospitality brand offers comfort beyond mere imagination, coupled with constant power supply enjoyed by the Ogulagha people. He disclosed further that its rates, which are affordable, ranges from between N15,000k (fifteen thousand naira) to N30,000k (thirty thousand naira), and that the hotel also renders room services with its stock of varieties of drinks.

So, whenever you visit Ogulagha Town any time any day, whether for tourism or for some social activities or for jobs, Hotel De Princess Royale is ever open to receive you as one of its guests, but only if you are early enough to book one of its foreign or local rooms to your luxury because I guarantee you, available spaces are like ‘Gold Rush’!
