The recipient of the PENGlobal Innovative Community Exco of the Year award, Mackson Ode Esq., has said that the honour will serve "as a catalyst, a booster" to do more for the people of Opuede Federated Community and Gbaramatu Kingdom at large in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Ode Esq. who is the executive chairman of Opuede Federated Community, made the remarks when he received the award at the KFT Place in Ekpan near Warri, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

The PENGlobal Innovative Community Exco of the Year award was presented by a special guest, Dcn. Joseph Tonlagha, the executive chairman of Kenyagbene Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

Other guests in attendance that witnessed the presentation include Chief Eyengho Samuel, the Tieyemiewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, and Engr. Torousei Patrick, the vice chairman of Opuede Federated Community.

According to the PENGlobal Brand Director, Mr. Abai Francis, the award presented to the Mackson Ode Esq-led Executive Council of Opuede Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West LGA of Delta State, is "due to its demonstration of innovative leadership by it taking a bold step to change the old narrative through the establishment of the Opuede Farms and Foods Processing Industries Limited, which has placed Opuede community on the map for self-sustenance and independency."

He further stated that the actions of the executive should serve as an example to other community executives in the kingdom to lean towards creative leadership that is innovative and productive, not one that is weaving a dependent mentality for revenue generation.

The recipient, on behalf of his exco members, thanked the management of PENGlobal for the honour in recognising the efforts of the illuminative executive to change the narrative.

He said, "We were already thinking, brainstorming together with my vice chairman, how we're going to expand and have more and produce more and what we're going to do.

"So basically, this award is, like I said, it's a catalyst, it's a booster, it's an encouragement to the little that we have done. And we want to see that this little that we have done that has been appreciated by PENGlobal, by the way of this award, it's going to metamorphose into something beyond even our own imagination.

"This is an encouragement. And by the grace of God, we hope that by the end of this year, the little that have been seen that have culminated in this award will have more and more. Once again, I want to say thank you so much," he added.
