HONOURS: My Note of Congratulations to a Hero and Visionary Leader

updated 28 Nov, 2023

Dear High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, the Ibe Ebidouwei of Izon Nation, I salute you Sir, not only because of the recent Honorary Doctorate Degree that was conferred on your dignified personality by the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Okerenkoko, at its just concluded convocation ceremony, but also for giving me and other youths a hope for tomorrow.

If it weren't for your vision in the establishment of the maritime university, I wouldn't have been inspired to study in the NMU under the Department of Marine Transport and Logistics Management. Your vision of NMU laid a solid foundation for me and others.

The presence of the NMU from day one has been one of my greatest joy having knowledge of how other higher institutions help to drive community development and growth. Hence I joined in the protest against the rumours of its closure at the onset of the NMU.

I therefore thank you for laying a solid foundation for the present and future youths. May God continue to cause men to honour you and use you as an example to shame our so-called leaders who care less about the people they claim to lead and govern. You're my Hero and will always be.

Congratulations High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka G.O.C on your PhD award.

I remain COMR ALEX TORWEI OKORO, Azama Ward Public Relations Officer representing the good people of Azama Ward and Igoba Federated Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West LGA of Delta state.
