HIT-AND-RUN: Ejiro Bobo greets Tantita MD Kestin, GYC, others for support, harps on 'life consciousness' attitude
The LGA Coordinator, Directorate of Politics in Delta State, and Treasurer, Zonal Electoral Committee of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Comr. Mesahrun Ejiro Bobo, has expressed her gratitude to the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi, and to other sympathisers who came to her aid recently in a hit-and-run involving her son, Ekwetafia Bishop Tamaratuwuayinrin, on March 12, 2024.
Comr. Bobo also expressed her worries on the attitude of some Nigerians whom he cautioned should be conscious of life at all times rather than making fun of life-threatening situations.
Recounting the accident, according to Comr. Bobo, her son had been involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident on March 12, in Warri, Delta State, while crossing the road on his way back from school.
"With what I was told, people who flocked to the accident scene were busy making video recordings and snapping photos of my son on their smartphone devices rather than help to save the situation. If not for a good Samaritan who took it upon himself to rush him to the hospital it would have been a different story.
"We went for the brain scan in Pharez Diagnostics at Uti, Effurun, which motivated individuals from the society to offer their support. To the glory of God everything went successfully. The brain was not affected," she said.
Comr. Bobo and family who are set to offer appreciation to God in a Thanksgiving church service on Easter day said she was overwhelmed by the massive support she received and thought it wise to acknowledge all those who supported her in her time of desperate need.
"Infact, I am overwhelmed. I want to appreciate everyone who came to my aid at that particular time. I thought there was no hope anywhere, but God made a way when there was no way at that time.
"I want to send my appreciation to the GYC President Mr. Egbejule Kingsley and his exco members as they took it upon themselves by bringing the incident to the notice of the public via social media.
"I also want to appreciate Chief Kestin Pondi who saw me there (at the hospital). Coincidentally he came for a visit, met me there and extended support.
"I want to also appreciate IYC Gbaramatu Clan, the Directorate of Politics in Delta State, DPG, of which I am the LGA Coordinator of Warri South-West; City of Liberty International Church; the Igoba Chairman Mr Epriye Teibowei; my family members and friends for standing by me. I want to thank them all for their prayers and support as well," she added.
Comr. Bobo also prayed that no mother or parent should go through the ordeal she witnessed of recent and urged schools situated close to busy roads to employ personnel that will be rendering the safety services of aiding pupils and students road-crossing.
