updated 15 Sep, 2024

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, in the Niger Delta region, High Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has charged Nigerians, particularly the Ijaw ethnic nationality, to recognise their roots by embracing their cultural traditions.

The Administrator gave the charge at the Father Igologolo Temple in Saimuzu-Ama, a spiritual holy worship site in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Wednesday, September 12, 2024.

Dr. Otuaro participated in the potent spiritual ceremony with High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, who is the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, TSSNL, and the spiritual head of the Ijaw people.

According to the PAP Boss, who said he is a proud traditionalist, urged everyone to embrace their cultural traditions, emphasizing that real progress starts with an appreciation and respect for one's past.

Dr. Otuaro, the Ibe Uyadonwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, also took his time during the ceremony to pray for Nigeria's unity and peace, especially for the Niger Delta region.

He reassured participants of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the development and well-being of the Niger Delta continue to be a top priority for the present government.

His attendance at the event, with the gathering of leaders devoted to maintaining Ijaw traditions, served as a reminder of the close ties that the Ijaw people have to their traditional ways of life.
