The Electoral Committee of the Gbaramatu Youth Council, GYC, Worldwide has issued a deadline for 'Delegates List' ahead of the general election that is fixed for the month of March to elect new officers to pilot the affairs of the youth body in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

This was contained in a document released and signed by the Electoral Committee Chairman and Secretary, Mayor Ipopo Present and Comr. Joshua Otuaro, respectively, on Monday, February 19, 2024.

The document, which was sighted by PENGlobal Community, contained columns for serial number, names of delegate, community and phone number, with spaces for the two Executive Officers and four stakeholders to append their signatures.

The statement as contained in the document reads: "This is to inform all the five (5) zones of GYC that they are to submit their Delegate List before or on the 26th day of February 2024.

"The Delegate Form is to be collected by the two (2) Executive Officers representing each zones and to be submitted back to the Electoral Committee before or on the 26th Day of February 2024, by the two executive officers.

"Therefore each zones are entitled to ten (10) delegates each."

As regards the conduct and order of the election, it was disclosed that March 1 is arrival of delegates and the convenion proper, while March 2 is swearing-in and departure. In addition, screening of aspirants by the Electoral Committee commences from February 22 to 24.

Recall that the GYC Electoral Committee commenced the sales of Aspirants Interest forms for 10 executive positions on Monday, 5th February 2024 and closes sales of forms on Tuesday, 20th February 2024. Among the 10 executive positions, two are allocated to each of the five different zones in line with the zoning formula.
