GYC CONGRESS: Gbaramatu youths appreciate Aketekpe, Tompolo, other critical stakeholders

The Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has acknowledged the roles played by the Pere of the kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba; Niger Delta foremost leader High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, and other critical stakeholders to the success recorded at its recently concluded Congress at Sarabubou community on January, 24, 2025.

The GYC, which is the umbrella body of youths in the riverine kingdom, made its appreciation known in an official statement it released to the public and that was signed by its President, Mr. Egbejule Arerebo Kingsley, on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

The statement reads in full:

"With profound gratitude and deep appreciation, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who played pivotal roles in ensuring the success of the GYC Congress held in Sarabubo Community on January 24, 2024.

"We begin by expressing our utmost respect and appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Aketekpe, Agadagba, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), the Pere of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, for his unwavering support, wisdom, and fatherly role in fostering unity and progress within the kingdom. Your guidance and leadership continue to be a beacon of hope for our people.

"We are immensely grateful to High Chief Government oweizide Ekpemupolo (Alias Tompolo) for his remarkable contributions, both morally and financially, toward the success of the congress. His dedication to the growth and empowerment of the youth is truly commendable.

"Our sincere appreciation also goes to Chief Sheriff Mulade, Emeritus President of the Council, for his invaluable efforts and steadfast commitment to youth development. His selfless service continues to inspire the next generation of leaders.

"Special thanks to Chief Mathew Ebifiyebebe Pudie, Barr. Larry Malami  and Michael Tonlagha for their immense contributions. Your generosity and support have played a crucial role in ensuring the success of this great event.

"We also acknowledge High Chief Dennis Otuaro, PAP Administrator, for his steadfast commitment to peacebuilding and youth empowerment. His contributions toward the Congress were instrumental in its smooth execution.

"Our deep gratitude extends to Hon. Shadrack Ebikeme, Emeritus President of the Council, for his pragmatic leadership and support. His efforts in shaping the vision of the GYC remain an inspiration.

"We equally recognize and celebrate the teeming youth who came out in large numbers, demonstrating commitment and passion towards ensuring that all committees, including the GYC Mobile Parliament, were set in line with the Constitution. Your enthusiasm and dedication signify hope for a brighter future.

"Furthermore, we appreciate the GYC Security Council for their diligence and commitment to maintaining peace and order throughout the Congress. Your dedication to ensuring a secure and successful event does not go unnoticed.

"Finally, our appreciation extends to all critical stakeholders whose tenacity, sacrifices, and unwavering support played an integral role in making the congress a resounding success. Your collective efforts have once again proven that unity and collaboration are the key pillars of progress.
