GYC: Comr. Ikenya Wisdom Refutes Purported Reconciliation Meeting, Says "I have no bad blood or grievances..."
A former Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide presidential candidate in the recently held youth council election, Comr. Ikenya Wisdom, has refuted claims made by an erstwhile president of GYC, Hon. Shadrach Ebikeme, that he was part of a reconciliation meeting called by the ex-president to reconcile candidates that participated in the national election.
Comr. Ikenya, who was responding to an earlier publication on PENGlobal Politics, made his position on the matter known on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Reacting, the Kunukunuma-born youth leader disclosed that he wasn't informed on the purpose of the meeting when he was called upon by the ex-president, citing that they had been hanging out as usual, mostly on weekends, and so his presence there was not on the basis of reconciliation as he has no bad blood with the GYC emerged preident in the first instance.
Part of the message reads: "In regards to the publication made by the immediate past GYC president, Comr. Shadrach Ebikeme via PENGlobal on Monday 12th March 2024 saying 'Shadrach Ebikeme, on Sunday, March 10, 2024, held a reconciliation meeting with all the presidential candidates that participated in the recently held youth election in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.'
"Please I want the entire gbaramatu kingdom and the public at large to know that I Comrade Wisdom Ikenya Denyefa was the first person to congratulate the president elect Comrade Kingsley Egbejule on the 2nd of March 2024.
"That is to say I have no bad blood or grievances against the winner or anyone in gbaramatu kingdom. So therefore, I don’t see reasons for calling our meeting a reconciliation meeting.
"Moreover, I wasn’t informed about the meeting; I only honored a friendly invitation. This is to let the public know that I don’t bear grudges or grievances with anyone. So there is nothing to reconcile between me and my co-aspirant and the president elect. Thank you," Comr. Ikenya revealed.
It would be recalled that Comr. Ikenya was among the top three contenders for the GYC president position, but emerged second after polling 15 votes from 44 valid votes cast by delegates in the youth election that held in Oporoza community on Friday, March 1.
