GYC 2024: Zone 3 Aspirant Pelemor Tombrapagha Withdraws from Race, Gives Reason

20 Feb, 2024

Less than two weeks to the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide's general election, a youth aspirant vying for the position of Director of Social, Pelemor Tombrapagha, has withdrawn his interest from the contest.

The youth aspirant, who is from Zone 3 (Kunukunuma) in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, made this known in a message to PENGlobal Politics via WhatsApp on Tuesday, February 20.

On the reason for his decision to withdraw from the contest, he said in his message that the decision is centered on not adhering to due process in the community before his purchase of interest form from the GYC Electoral Committee.

The message reads: "I, Pelemor Tombrapagha, withdraw from the position of Director of Social [in] GYC Gbaramatu Kingdom due to some reason that I didn’t pass the due process, so therefore I withdraw my ambition."

Pelemor also obtained a signed copy of his notice of withdrawal from the Electoral Committee Chairman and the Secretary, Mayor Ipopo Present and Comr. Joshua Otuaro, respectively, as evidence of his acceptance.

The GYC general election is billed for Oporoza community, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, on March 1, 2024.

With this development, Pelemor will no longer be participating in the general election to be conducted by the Electoral Committee for 10 positions in the youth council.
