GYC 2024: Presidential Aspirant Comr. Ikenya Wisdom Unveils 'Youth Development' Agenda for Gbaramatu Youths

19 Feb, 2024

Comr. Ikenya Wisdom Denyefa, an aspirant jostling for the position of president in the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has said that youth development remains his top-most agenda for youths in the kingdom.

Comr. Ikenya, who hails from Kunukunuma Federated Community in Zone 3 that is allotted the GYC positions of President and Director of Socials, made this known in a statement at the weekend ahead of the GYC general election fixed for March 2024.

The presidential aspirant, who is a member of the United Brothers of Gbaramatu (UBG), describes his yearnings for the office of president in the youth body as "the voice of the youths echoing for development in our beloved kingdom."

Comr. Ikenya also said that he intends to build a youth council that is independent, a youth council where all the voices of the youths will be heard, and a youth council that is poised to protect the interest of the kingdom at all times.

"In my administration, 'Youth Development' is my watchword. On that note, I will engage the local and state government and other governmental agencies within and outside the state to bring in adequate developmental opportunities to our region, and re-establishment of skill acquisition center to help develop the youths in our beloved kingdom.

"Together we can fight for an independent council whereby our affairs and running of the council won’t rely on the assistance of an individual or entity.

"However, we will stand as a council to protect the interest of our dear kingdom at all cost, thereby protecting our land boundaries from encroachment and all threatening land-related issues," he added.

Comr. Ikenya further appealed to the youths in Gbaramatu to join hands with him to achieve a new government where their voices will be heard.

"Join this train as we move for a better governance to bring youth development, job creation and all-inclusiveness in the affairs of this new chapter of government, where all voices will be heard and all youths carried along for the betterment of our dear kingdom."
