Joshua Otuaro made the promise on Monday, February 26, while unveiling the GYC timetable titled 'GYC Convention and General Election 2024' ahead of the GYC forthcoming election that is billed to hold in Oporoza community, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

According to the timetable, Thursday, March 1 will witness the arrival of GYC stakeholders and the conduct of the election, while March 2 is earmarked for the inauguration of the elected youth executives and departure.

The GYC election process which began with the sales of interest forms for 10 offices to aspirants spread across five zones from Monday, 5th February 2024 to Tuesday, 20th February 2024, culminated with a successful screening exercise by the Electoral Committee on Thursday, 22nd February and Friday, 23rd February 2024 in Warri.

The Electoral Committee declared that "All contestants are ready for the election after they were successfully screened before going into the forthcoming election."

They also expressed confidence that the election process will be transparent as the Electoral Committee has put in place measures to enhance a smooth process.

"Before now we have given them (contestants) the election guidelines and procedures which they are abiding to. And we also make them to understand that this is a family thing and there shouldn't be any form of violence during the election.

"So, they are all abiding to the rules and regulations for the forthcoming elections to which they signed a Peace Accord. So, they are all aware of the implications and the penalties," the Electoral Committee noted.

Speaking further the Electoral Committee noted that, "Some of the measures put in place include security personnel that will be on ground and other stakeholders that will also be around to observe the elections. So, we believe the elections will be hitch free."

The GYC Electoral Committee while welcoming counsels from various stakeholders projected towards a transparent election, assured all that the Electoral Committee is poised and is determined to deliver a free and fair election.
