GLORIOUS EXIT: Late Mama Kalla-totobor Peghe nee Igere for grand burial November 28

The burial date for the late Ama-Okusu-ere of Okpele-ama/Tebujor community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Mama Kalla-Tortorbor Peghe Nee Igere, popularly known as Kalla Aunty, has been announced as Friday, November 28, 2025.

The late mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who passed away at the age of 108 years on the 26th of April 2025, will be laid to rest in her paternal home town, Oporoza community, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

This is contained in an official statement announcing the funeral programme as signed by Amb. Frederick W. Igere for the family and Felicia Peghe for the children.

According to the issued statement, the body of late Kalla Aunty will be conveyed from the Vennell Mortuary at Okumagba Avenue in Warri by 10:00am on Friday, 28th November 2025, to Oporoza Town via Miller Waterfront near NPA.

There will be a brief stopover at her residence in Okpele-ama Tebujor community by 12 noon, and thereafter depart to Oporoza Town for her funeral rites by 4:30pm.

A Christian and social wake-keep ceremony will hold from 8:00pm till dawn, followed by interment on the morning of 29th November 2025.

The late Kalla Aunty, who was born sometime in 1917, hails from the families of Siakui Igere of Ikiretimi Quarter in Oporoza Town, and the Tebeawoni Family of Gbazor Quarter in Benikrukru Town, both in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

The aged Kalla Aunty is well known for her midwifery skills and has trained many women in the art of child birth, and in the process helped to guide the entry of many souls that are transiting from their natural place of incubation (womb) to life on the Earth.

Though she gave birth to 15 children, at the time of her passing to eternal Glory she is survived by two children, 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren among other relatives.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.
