GBARAMATU: NMU staff commends Tinubu, Tompolo, stakeholders on maritime bill

The Principal Assistant Registrar, Registry Department of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Vincent Tamara-ebi Brakoru Ubebe, has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the NMU Bill to law.

Hon. Ubebe gave the commendation in a statement he released and was made available to PENGlobal on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

Hon. Ubebe described the efforts of stakeholders such the Niger Delta leader, High Chief Dr Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo among others toward the signing of the NMU Bill as "tireless".

Part of the statement reads, "I, Hon. Vincent Tamara-ebi Brakoru Ubebe, Principal Assistant Registrar, Registry Department, Nigeria Maritime University Okerenkoko, Delta State, express appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for signing the bill establishing Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State to Law.

"I also commend the tireless efforts of High Chief (Dr) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, the senator representing Delta State Senatorial District, Hon. Joel Onohwakpo, the member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Justin Pondi, and other stakeholders," he added.

The NMU staff also offered his congratulations to the Vice Chancellor of the maritime university, Professor Emmanuel Munakurogha Adigio, and thanked God for making the maritime university a reality.

"I also congratulate the Vice-Chancellor, staff, students and the Gbaramatu people for this long awaited good news of the year 2025.

"Finally, I am grateful to God Almighty for life, His mercy and sustenance. I thank Him for making everything possible in a time like this. Hallelujah!"
