GBARAMATU: Kokodiagbene Bolowonimode Ogbo Receives Massive Donations at Fund Raising

A sociocultural organisation, the Bolowonimode Ogbo Kokodiagbene, an association of women in Kokodiagbene community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has successfully raised millions of naira in a fund raising as part of its annual celebration party that held in the community on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Special guests at the Bolowonimode Ogbo Kokodiagbene celebration party include Comr. Pedro Bekenawei, Chairman of Kokodiagbene community; Chief Madam Fanny Adurumokumor, Chairlady; Hon. Kelvin igere, Vice Chairman; Mrs. Helen Uti, Vice Chairlady; Mama Zimokumor Gelemo, Mother of the Day.

Other special guests of honour are Chief Emmanuel Ekpetipu (Amadiwei of Kokodiagbene community), Hon. Uyadongha Poweide (former Chairman of Kokodiagbene), Mr. Seyeifa Brubor, Mr. David Fellow, Mr. John Akoto, Mr. Solomon Keniye, Mr. Victor Emotimide, Mr. Solomon Akoto, Mr. Matthew Olokpa, Apst. Bestman Cousin, Dr. Blessing Ukugha with Mr. Layefa Timadi as Master of Ceremony (MC).

Just as he declared the ceremony open with a brief speech, the chairman of Kokodiagbene, Comr. Bekenawei, also set the pace of the fund raising with the launch of an 85 Horsepower (HP) outboard boat engine, one of the items topping the list of demands by the women association.

Describing the women as "our mothers", the chairman appreciated them for coming up with the idea of uniting the women in the community towards a common good, one of the reasons he gladly accepted to play the role of chairman of the occasion to offer his support especially as women, who are known to largely contribute to the success of their children deserve every support.

Among those that made their donations include the former chairman of Kokodiagbene community, Hon. Uyadonghan Powede, who parted with the sum of N500,000k; the Kokodiagbene Executive Council, through its General Secretary Elder Francis Ayeku donated the sum of N100,000k, the group of clan chiefs in Kokodiagbene community donated N300,000k

Others are Kokodiagbene elders N30,000k with an additional support of N10,000k from Mr. David Fellow, Chiefs Fezigha Odu and Ebimobowei Oguma, special guests at the occasion, donated N100,000k, Chief Kingsley Takemebo and his band N20,000k, Hon. Jimoh Keniye N50,000k, Mr. Kelvin Igere N50,000k, Mr. Solomon Akoto N30,000k, Mr. Ebolo N50,000k.

Others are Mr. Bako Igere N20,000k, Boan. & Mrs. Godfrey Timiyan N5,000k, Comr. Samuel Emiko N20,000k, Mr. David Fellow N20,000k, Mr. Ark Selegha, chairman of Jones Creek N20,000k, Mr. Alfred Timadi N10,000k, Comr. Alamponso N5,000k, Women of Teidegbene satellite community N15,000k, Kokodiagbene Urban Women led by Madam Sagana Bubor N20,000k, Jones Creek Women N5,000k among other donations.

Speaking on behalf of the Bolowonimode Ogbo association, the vice chairlady Madam Ebiyerede Timiyan, said that the need for an engine springs from the fact that they had always been faced with the challenge of conveying members to other ceremonies in and outside Gbaramatu Kingdom, a situation that has led to it expending huge sums to make appearances at major events.

Madam Timiyan expressed her appreciation with thanks and prayers of blessings on everyone who did not only donate but made their appearances at the event, in what she described as "encouraging" to the women group.
